ABOUT ZACARIAS1925

Rita Nazareno is an Emmy Award-winning Television Creative Services Producer whose shift to design is a product of passion and family ties.

She is the Creative Director of ZACARIAS 1925, a brand of hand-woven bags and home accessories that places a contemporary thrust in the traditional craft of hand-weaving, referencing a varied array of disciplines such as contemporary art, architecture and cinema.

ZACARIAS 1925 is exclusively hand-woven at the S.C.Vizcarra Workshop, founded in 1925 in Manila by Rita’s grandmother. ZACARIAS is named after Nazareno’s grandfather.

ZACARIAS 1925 has shown in Maison et Objet Paris, Premiere Classe Paris, Pitti Firenze, Super Milan, Salone et Mobile, The Artling at ArtStage Singapore, and Watari Museum’s On Sundays.

Nazareno teaches Design Studio / Creative Process Workshops and holds Design Talks for varied institutions such as Watari Museum’s On Sundays Tokyo, Museum of Contemporary Art and Design Manila, Nomi Network Phnom Penh.

She is also co-Creative Director of Nazareno/Lichauco along with Gabby Lichauco.
